TEAM RUBICON
Skilled Disaster Relief
Al Labrada’s commitment to service extends far beyond the everyday. As a volunteer with Team Rubicon, he deploys alongside a nationwide network of skilled volunteers to deliver critical, on-the-ground disaster relief when communities need it most.
Team Rubicon is a veteran-led humanitarian organization that mobilizes “Greyshirts” to prepare for, respond to, and help communities recover from disasters across the country. When wildfires rage, floods devastate neighborhoods, or hurricanes leave entire regions in crisis, these teams move in quickly—filling gaps, restoring access, and supporting recovery efforts where traditional resources are stretched thin.
In the field, Al takes part in hands-on operations that make an immediate impact. His work includes clearing debris, assisting with damage assessments, restoring access to affected areas, and supporting rebuilding efforts alongside first responders and local agencies. It’s demanding, physical work—done in unpredictable conditions—but it’s where real recovery begins.
For Al, this role is not symbolic. It’s action-driven and purpose-focused. Showing up in the aftermath of disaster requires discipline, resilience, and a willingness to do the hard work others can’t or won’t. Through Team Rubicon, he is part of a mission that ensures no community is left to recover alone.
